Joburg Mayor, Dada Morero, to deliver his State of City Address on Wednesday.
As Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero prepares to deliver his State of the City Address (SOCA) residents and political rivals are demanding action on infrastructure collapse, water outages, crime and overall service delivery issues.
Morero will address the city at St Mary’s Cathedral in the Joburg CBD on Wednesday amid mounting pressure to convince residents that his administration can reverse the decline in the country’s economic hub.
The ANC in Johannesburg said the address will focus heavily on accelerating service delivery, infrastructure investment and inner-city rejuvenation projects aimed at restoring confidence in the metro.
Service delivery in South Africa remains a big challenge for municipalities. This is largely due to municipalities not having the required resources to fulfil the delivery of basic services.
