Unknown thieves used a truck to ram and plunder a cash machine early Wednesday in the coastal town of Porto Rafti, east of Athens.

The attack took place around 5 a.m. outside a supermarket. The thieves drove the heavy vehicle into the ATM, smashing it open, removed the cash inside and escaped abandoning the truck on the spot.

It was not immediately clear how much money was stolen.
