Google sister company Waymo, which operates driverless taxis, has apologised after one of its cars repeatedly reversed out of a cul-de-sac in east London, making a loud noise at around 4 a.m. BST last week.
Residents of Elder Street in Spitalfields said the car had been waking people up with reversing noises and siren sounds in the early hours of most days last week.
As the road is within a conservation area, most residents do not have double-glazing, one resident told the BBC.
