Google sister company Waymo has issued a software recall for its driverless vehicles, after an empty car in Texas was swept away in a flooded road.
The recall affects 3,791 vehicles using Waymo’s fifth- and sixth-generation autonomous driving software, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said.
The recall is designed to address an issue where cars would slow down, rather than stop, when approaching flooded roads that they cannot traverse, the NHTSA said.
