The Community Party of India (Marxist) has urged the State government to address the poor sanitation conditions at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. The party stated that the 100-year-old hospital, which receives thousands of inpatients and outpatients a day, has been continuously facing issues with poor sanitation in several wards.The party also said the toilets are insufficient in many departments, especially in the Nephrology ward, causing inconvenience to the patients. The Coimbatore District Committee of the CPI(M) met with the hospital dean, M. Geetanjali, and submitted a petition demanding immediate action to rectify the issues.
