MANILA, Philippines — Aboitiz Power Corp. has sealed a 2-megawatt emergency power supply deal with Misamis Occidental I Electric Cooperative Inc. (MOELCI-I) to support the region’s increasing electricity needs.
In a statement on Tuesday, the power giant said the agreement was inked through its subsidiary Therma South Inc. (TSI), which operates a 300-megawatt coal plant between Davao City and Sta. Cruz in Davao del Sur.
The new energy pact ensures a stable electricity supply for the cooperative’s consumers in Oroquieta City and the municipalities of Aloran, Lopez Jaena, Plaridel, Calamba, Baliangao, Sapang Dalaga, and Concepcion.
“At TSI and AboitizPower, we don’t just provide power — we stand by our partners in every situation, including the critical moments when they need us most,” said James Yu, AboitizPower head of revenue operations.
