The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has dismissed growing fears over insecurity in Ogbomoso, assuring students and staff that the institution remains safe despite recent incidents of attacks and kidnapping in parts of Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a press release issued on Tuesday by the university’s Registrar, Mrs Olayinka O. Balogun, the institution admitted that reports surrounding the incidents have created anxiety and triggered rumours about the security situation within the university community.
“The Management assures all members of the LAUTECH Community that there is no cause for alarm. The University remains safe, and academic activities continue without disruption as security agencies are actively monitoring the situation,” the statement read.
