You can’t read a fashion magazine and avoid flip-flops. I call it The Row effect, where every outfit is polished off with a pair of, you guessed it … flip-flops. And the brands took note: At men’s Fashion Week, Auralee, AMI, and Louis Vuitton all debuted offerings to show off your little piggies. We personally are fine with a good ol’ pair of Havaianas or ones from Old Navy, but Miu Miu, Prada, Alaïa, and The Row also have their takes. Realistically, however, if you live in New York you can’t always wear a flip-flop or even a sandal. (Who wants to have their feet on the city pavement?) And unless your plan is to Uber everywhere, you will face mysterious puddles of liquid or crowded trains during rush hour.
