Senator Onowakpo-Thomas who beat the former House of Assembly member, Michael Diden popularly known as Ejele, polled 87, 805 votes to defeat Michael Diden who scored 30,798 votes.
The incumbent senator, Joel Onowakpo-Thomas, representing Delta South senatorial district of Delta State in the national Assembly, has been declared the winner of the Delta South senatorial district of the All Progressive Congress, (APC)) primary election for the 2027 general elections.
Senator Onowakpo-Thomas who beat the former House of Assembly member, Michael Diden popularly known as Ejele, polled 87, 805 votes to defeat Michael Diden who scored 30,798 votes.
Announcing the results Monday night at the APC collation centre, James Ekpre Otobo hall, Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area of the State, the chairman of the election panel declared Senator Onowakpo-Thomas winner having polled 87,805 votes to defeat Diden, who secured 30,794 votes.
SaharaReporters gathered that Onowakpo-Thomas led in seven out of the eight local government areas declared during the exercise, while Diden won in his home local government area of Warri North.
