Official figures released after the exercise showed Daramola polling 6,547 votes to secure the party’s ticket.
Fresh details have emerged surrounding the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, where an aspirant, Dr. Olumuyiwa Daramola, defeated the incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Jimi Odimayo, in a result that has continued to generate political discussions across Ondo State.
Official figures released after the exercise showed Daramola polling 6,547 votes to secure the party’s ticket.
However, insiders within the APC say the outcome was shaped by political alignments and behind-the-scenes negotiations involving key loyalists of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Party sources disclosed that Daramola was widely regarded as the preferred aspirant of the governor ahead of the primaries.
