MANILA, Philippines — Shariff Aguak Mayor Akmad “Mitra” Ampatuan on Monday went to the Department of Justice in Manila to seek swift action on the charges for alleged violations of the Anti-Terrorism Act that he filed against 15 individuals allegedly involved in a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) ambush on him last January.

Ampatuan arrived at the DOJ around 1 p.m. on Monday to attend the preliminary investigation of the complaint.

In an interview with the DOJ reporters, Ampatuan’s counsel, Atty. Cyrus Torreña said that the “anti-terrorism” complaint filed before the DOJ was a result of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Major Crimes Investigation Unit’s case buildup of the ambush on the mayor.
