The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a list of 47 senatorial aspirants barred from participating in the party’s upcoming Senate primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party, in a statement issued on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the affected aspirants were “not cleared” following a screening exercise conducted by APC screening committees.

“The screening exercise was conducted by the Party’s Screening Committees in accordance with established procedures and guidelines,” the statement read.

Among the prominent politicians denied clearance are former senator and media entrepreneur, Ben Murray-Bruce, former Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Ipalibo Harry Banigo, and Wasiu Adegboyega Ajimobi, brother of former Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi.
