MANILA, Philippines — Customers of Razon-led Negros Electric and Power Corp. (Negros Power) will pay cheaper electricity bills this May following an 86-centavo rate cut.
Negros Power said that the average residential electricity rate for this month had dropped to P11.3808 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) from April’s P12.2463 per kWh.
The slash in May electricity rate was attributed to lower generation, which fell by 53 centavos per kWh. Generation charges usually account for more than half of power bills.
