MANILA, Philippines — A supposed National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) driver, who was arrested over the shooting incident at the Senate last week, tested positive for gunpowder residue, the Southern Police District (SPD) confirmed.

This development came as the paraffin test of the purported NBI driver turned out positive, according to SPD spokesperson Lt. Margaret Panaga on Monday in a phone call with the Inquirer.

A paraffin test determines the presence of gunpowder residue on a person’s hands, which may indicate if they had recently fired a gun.
