Machine gun-toting police grabbed three suspects on a London Tube platform in a dramatic arrest in front of terrified passengers.Armed officers could be seen swarming the platform of St James's Park Station in the capital's bustling West End during the arrests on April 23 at around 4pm.Police had been called about an armed robbery and assault on Vauxhall Bridge Road and tracked three boys matching the descriptions they were given to the Tube station.They found two knives and the three boys, two aged 16 and one aged 15, were arrested for being in possession of an offensive weapon and robbery.A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said the boys had been bailed and officers were still investigating. All had seemed normal at the popular District and Circle Line station until a series of loud shouts were heard as the cops - dressed in all black and wielding machine guns with attached torches - descended on the station.Video taken from the opposite platform shows one suspect standing against the wall and raising his hands before being dragged to the ground by an officer.The other two were seated on a bench before being forced to the floor in full view of stunned London Underground customers. St James's Park is one of London's busiest Tube stations, servicing around 13.5million passengers a year and situated close to major attractions including Buckingham Palace.The Met spokeswoman said: 'The incident shown in the video that has been widely shared took place more than three weeks ago.'At around 16:00hrs on Thursday, 23 April officers received a call reporting an armed robbery and assault on Vauxhall Bridge Road.'Armed officers attended due to the clear risk posed by three people reportedly carrying knives.'Following a search of the area, officers were able to trace three individuals matching the suspect descriptions to St James's Park tube station.'Three boys matching the description were detained on the station platform. Following searches, two knives were found and boys, two 16-year-olds and one 15-year-old, were arrested for being in possession of an offensive weapon and robbery.'They have since been bailed. Enquiries continue.'
