This is the moment heroic members of the public tackled a suspected knifeman to the ground in Leicester Square.Police descended on the London landmark in the early hours of Sunday morning after a person was seen allegedly brandishing a weapon and four men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were injured. Shocking footage posted online shows a group of men pinning the alleged attacker to the floor at around 1.08am. In the video the man, who was wearing a black coat, trousers and a blue rucksack, can then be seen holding up what appears to be a knife and ordering everyone to 'get away' before standing up.Two of the brave passers-by are then seen in a stand-off with him before a security guard runs over and tackles him to the ground as he screams.Blood can be seen covering the alleged attacker's hands before another security guard appears to find the knife discarded on the floor and walks away with it.Met Police officers arrested a 50-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, grievous bodily harm, affray and possession of a Class B drug.He has since been detained under the Mental Health Act, the force said. They are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.'A 50 year-old-man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, grievous bodily harm, affray and possession of a Class B drug.
