Three persons riding triples on a motorcycle, were killed in a road accident at Periyamudaliyar Chavadi on the East Coast Road on Sunday.The police identified the deceased as Silambarasan, 29 of Alapakkam and his relatives Stalin, 37 and Karthikeyan, 33 of Kalapet.The trio was proceeding on a motorcycle to Abishekapakkam taking Silambarasan to a hospital when a speeding State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) bus rammed behind a car and their two-wheeler. In the impact, the motorcycle got stuck underneath the bus between the two front wheels and was dragged for a few metres.The three sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot. The bus driver Murugeshwaran, 30 of Dindigul district fled the scene. The bodies were retrieved and sent to Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). A case has been registered.
