LUCENA CITY — Packs of cocaine worth an estimated P50.5 million recovered in two separate incidents in the island municipality of Patnanungan, Quezon, likely originated from outside the Philippines, police said.
“These came from outside the Philippines and were not retrieved by those supposed to pick them up because of strong waves, which caused them to drift into the Patnanungan area,” Col. Romulo Albacea, director of the Quezon Police Provincial Office, said in an online interview Sunday morning, May 17.
On Saturday, a fisherman in Patnanungan voluntarily surrendered five sealed plastic bags containing white crystalline substances weighing a total of 6,514.7 grams.
