MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Erwin Tulfo has renewed his call for the passage of a bill on the welfare of media workers following the shooting incident inside the Senate premises last week.
“The journalists play a crucial role in revealing the truth about what happened during the shootout. Who did fire first?” Tulfo said in a statement.
Chaos erupted on Wednesday night at the Senate building in Pasay City, where Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa had holed himself up after he surprisingly emerged on Monday to avoid his arrest and transfer to the International Criminal Court (ICC) over his alleged role in former President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs.
