Hontiveros: ‘All this for a man who won’t face the law’

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Risa Hontiveros vented frustrations apparently directed at some of her peers following Wednesday night’s shooting incident inside the Senate premises and the predawn disappearance of Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa from the building.

“Walang takipan (No coverup),” she said in a Facebook post on Thursday. “We need to get to the bottom of this. The Filipino people deserve a full, independent and unobstructed accounting.”

Hontiveros was one of the five members of the Senate minority bloc who filed a resolution on Tuesday urging Dela Rosa to surrender to the International Criminal Court, which has issued a warrant for his arrest as an alleged co-perpetrator in the bloody drug war waged by former President Rodrigo Duterte.FEATURED STORIES
