By Malay Mail Sunday, 17 May 2026 10:26 AM MYT KLANG, May 17 — A 75-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a tragic accident that claimed the lives of two sisters in Bandar Baru Klang last Thursday.The siblings, aged 57 and 62, were reportedly walking to dinner with a 17-year-old boy when they were struck by a sport utility vehicle (SUV) along Jalan Pekan Baru.Klang Utara district police chief ACP S. Vijaya Rao confirmed that the local man was detained at approximately 11.40 am on Friday to assist with investigations.“Checks revealed that the suspect has no prior criminal or drug-related records. The driver will be remanded for further investigation,” Vijaya Rao said in a statement.The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.The tragedy occurred at roughly 7.40 pm on Thursday. While both sisters were pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of their injuries, the teen, who is the son of one of the victims, survived with injuries.It was previously reported that the victims were on a simple evening outing for dinner when the SUV struck them.
