Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) on Sunday hiked compressed natural gas (CNG) prices by Re 1 per kg across its network, marking the second consecutive increase in 48 hours and deepening the fuel cost burden on Delhi-NCR commuters.With the latest revision, CNG in Delhi will now cost Rs 80.09 per kg. In Noida and Ghaziabad, the revised rate stands at Rs 88.70 per kg.Earlier on May 15, Indraprastha Gas Limited had increased CNG prices by Rs 2 per kg, bringing Delhi rates to Rs 79.09 per kg at the time. The Central government increased petrol prices by around Rs 3 per litre and diesel by nearly Rs 3 per litre on May 15, taking petrol to Rs 97.77 per litre and diesel to Rs 90.67 per litre in Delhi.The price increases come amid the ongoing blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most critical oil routes, which handles nearly one-fifth of global oil and gas trade.
