Fuel prices across India have been under increasing pressure in recent weeks due to rising global crude oil prices and disruptions in shipping routes through the Gulf region.Earlier in the day, the Centre increased petrol prices by Rs 3.14 per litre and diesel prices by Rs 3.11 per litre. Following the hike, petrol in Delhi now costs Rs 97.77 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs 90.67 per litre.The ongoing crisis has prompted several shipping companies to reroute vessels or delay cargo operations, while India has stepped up naval surveillance and energy security efforts to protect fuel supplies.
