Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices in Delhi have been hiked by Rs 2 per kg, effective today, May 26, 2026. This is the third such increase in less than two weeks amid rising global energy prices. (IGL) reportedly hiked prices by Rs 1. The latest hike follows a Rs 1 per kg increase announcement on May 23, another Rs 2 per kg hike on May 15 and Re 1 per kg hike on May 17. The fresh rise in CNG prices has further added to the financial strain on households and transport operators already dealing with higher fuel expenses in recent weeks.The fresh revision comes even as petrol and diesel prices were also increased on Monday, marking the fourth hike in less than two weeks. The consecutive hikes in CNG, petrol and diesel prices come amid mounting pressure on global energy markets due to escalating tensions in the Middle East and continued disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy corridor through which nearly one-fifth of the world’s oil and gas trade passes.
