The tunnels in the Tempe area of Central Greece will close to traffic in both directions for five days, due to maintenance work and an upgrading of electronic systems, the General Regional Police Directorate of Thessaly said Saturday.
The closure will be in effect from March 18-22, from 07.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. Traffic will be diverted through the old national road network for both directions, the announcement said.
At the same time, individual closures will apply to entry and exit points at the Evangelismos, Leptokaria, and Rapsani junctions, as well as at the Platamonas toll station.
The police advises drivers to exercise increased caution and comply with the signs and instructions of traffic police.
