The Marist Brothers Old Pupil Association (MBOPA) has launched a major fundraising campaign to support long-term renovations of the Centennial Hall at Saint Joseph’s College in Alafua and Marist Primary School in Mulivai.
The hall renovation is described as a major project requiring significant funding to meet structural and regulatory standards. MBOPA said the Centennial Hall has long served as a central meeting place for Marist old pupils and also houses its headquarters.
MBOPA began its fundraising efforts earlier this year with a raffle launch held in American Samoa on April 18, 2026. The event, staged through a luau, drew strong support from the local community, businesses, and members of the Marist fraternity.
A delegation led by MBOPA Vice President Tuala Magele Daniel Ah Kau travelled to American Samoa for the launch. The association also took part in the territory’s Flag Day parade for the first time.
A second series of fundraising events is planned for July in American Samoa, including a golf tournament on July 2 at Ili’ili Golf Course, a corporate dinner on July 3 at the DWYA Youth Centre, and a raffle on July 4. Entry fees include US$300 per golf team, US$1,000 per corporate table, and US$20 per raffle sheet.
