As global studios accelerate production and streaming platforms expand their animation portfolios, industry experts say students entering the field now need a combination of creative, technical, and international production skills to remain competitive.

According to Global Growth Insights, the global animation production market reached an estimated US$465 billion in 2025, reflecting strong long-term growth potential. The rise of OTT and streaming platforms has been a major driver, with around 40% of animated content now produced directly for services such as Netflix and Disney+.

Global Growth Insights identifies Asia as the world's fastest-growing animation market. In Vietnam, local studios are becoming increasingly integrated into global production chains, creating pressure to upgrade workforce capabilities and move beyond technical outsourcing toward higher-value creative production.
