He further noted that successive administrations in Nigeria had allegedly deployed security chiefs for political repression and human rights violations.

Fiery human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has accused the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Tosin Ajayi, of spending agency funds to recruit online trolls in a bid to impress President Bola Tinubu and prove loyalty to the current administration.

Sowore made this known on Thursday in a statement posted on his social media platforms, where he also declared that no amount of intimidation, false prosecution, judicial manipulation, or repression would silence resistance against bad governance in Nigeria.

The activist stated that the DSS boss was deploying state resources for propaganda and political purposes, insisting that history would judge public officials who use security agencies to oppress citizens.

According to Sowore, “Today, I was made aware that DSS DG Tosin Ajayi is spending @officialdssng agency funds to recruit trolls, desperate to impress Tinubu @officialabat and prove his loyalty. But history is full of @OfficialDSSNG and @PoliceNG security chiefs who used their offices to prop up oppression, abuse citizens, and dehumanize Nigerians, only to end in disgrace or irrelevance.”
