Sudan’s minister of higher education and scientific research, Ahmed Mudawi Musa, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting public universities and improving the conditions of their staff, acknowledging the role of university professors in sustaining the education process despite ongoing challenges.
In a statement, the ministry said Musa’s pledge came during a meeting with the directors of public universities, who participated both in person and via video conference. Musa
said improving staff salaries was a key step toward enabling academics to carry out their teaching and research responsibilities effectively. He also stressed the importance of balancing financial support with the preservation of quality standards and strengthening educational outcomes to better meet labour-market needs.
The minister further called for expanding e-learning initiatives and diversifying funding sources by building regional and international partnerships that can support scientific research and academic programmes.
Algeria’s higher education institutions produced “exceptional” results in entrepreneurship during February, the minister of higher education and scientific research, Kamel Baddari, has announced.
