A 25-year-old youth was arrested for allegedly assaulting a government bus driver on Wednesday. According to police, C. Thangadurai (53), a government bus driver and a resident of Karumapuram near Karipatti, was driving a bus heading to Salem Old Bus Stand from Vazhapadi on Wednesday. At the railway gate near Ammapet, two youth were engaged in a verbal duel by blocking the traffic.Thangaduri honked the horn, asking them to move away from the road. Irked over this, one of the youth, identified as S. Nandhakumar of Udaiyapatti, allegedly attacked Thangadurai, who sustained injuries to his left ear and eye.
