Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has exhorted officials to ensure urban centric uniform planning in the development of mega growth corridors covering major municipal corporations across the State.

Planning should encompass solid waste management plants, ring roads, sewerage treatment plants, underground drainages and other aspects. Major corporations like Karimnagar, Khammam and Warangal should have outer ring roads and developments in three corporations should be taken up keeping in mind the upcoming airports.

The Chief Minister made the suggestions during a meeting with senior officials on urban planning on Wednesday. He wanted the officials concerned to leverage technology in designing underground drainages while they should focus on incorporating generation of renewable energy right from the planning stage.

Steps should be initiated to set up solar power generation plants in urban areas. At the same time, steps should be taken to promote the use of electric vehicles including those that would be taken on rent.
