A total of 1,48,950 candidates have qualified for admission to diploma courses across Andhra Pradesh after the Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET) 2026 recorded a pass percentage of 91.37%.According to the State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET), 1,63,008 students appeared for the examination held on April 25, 2026, out of 1,77,581 registered candidates. The turnout was the highest in the history of POLYCET, with more than 23,000 candidates writing the test compared to last year, the SBTET said in a statement after the results were declared on Tuesday (May 5, 2026).Girls again outperformed boys, recording a pass percentage of 93.57% against 89.88% among boys.Among the districts, Alluri Sitharama Raju district was the top performer with a pass rate of 99.11%, followed by Polavaram (95.46%) and Prakasam (94.72%). The strong showing from tribal and agency areas points to better access to technical education in remote regions, the SBTET said.Students can check their results on the official website, polycetap.gov.in, or through the Mana Mitra WhatsApp governance service by sending a message to 95523-00009.For the academic year 2026-27, more than 84,000 seats are on offer across 265 polytechnic institutions, including government and private colleges. The web counselling schedule will be announced shortly, the Board said.Responding to the results, Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh said the performance of students, particularly girls and those from tribal regions, was satisfactory.
