Nearly 150 Dalit women, particularly from the Valmiki community, employed as sanitation workers, housekeeping staff, domestic workers and daily wagers, along with workers’ union groups from different States, gathered on Sunday at the Constitution Club of India for a public hearing focused on their issues.
Many workers at the hearing, organised by Dalit Adivasi Shakti Adhikar Manch, alleged that bribery was common for securing both temporary and permanent jobs in government institutions.
