Road widening and straightening of curves on roads, enhancing illumination on roads are some of the measures that would be taken up to prevent accidents on the identified black spots within Nandyal town.
Officials of various departments, including police, Roads and Buildings, National Highway and others, on Saturday (May 02) conducted a field inspection of the black spots in Nandyal town to identify and take corrective measures to prevent accidents at these spots.
The district administration has initiated measures to prevent road accidents and enhance passenger safety in the district. Officials identified a total of 29 potentially hazardous spots across the district and have taken steps to rectify them. Recently, district Collector Rajakumari Ganiya and Superintendent of Police Sunil Sheoran personally visited and inspected nine black spots located along the National Highway (NH 44). They directed the concerned officials to formulate and implement specific action plans aimed at preventing road accidents.
On Saturday (May 2), officials inspected black spots in six key locations in Nandyal town. At the black spot near the Nandyal Tank Bund (Cheruvukatta), measures will be taken to prevent accidents by widening the road and straightening the curves.
