Accident-prone blacks pots and blind spots across Hyderabad came under focus on Wednesday as police and civic authorities reviewed road safety measures and discussed steps to reduce fatalities and improve traffic discipline in the city.The meeting, attended by Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Joel Davis and Hyderabad District Collector Priyanka Ala, reviewed accident data on city roads and national highways, accident-prone black spots and blind spots, pedestrian accidents, drunk-driving cases and hit-and-run incidents.Commissioner Sajjanar stressed the need for installing road signage, zebra crossings, footpaths and streetlights, while removing encroachments and improving traffic management. He also called for increasing the height of central medians, installing guard railings and constructing foot overbridges in accident-prone areas.Officials discussed measures including scientific design of U-turns, improved lane discipline and speed control mechanisms. The District Collector directed departments to submit action taken reports within specified timelines.
