Dylan Carter, a South Carolina musician who competed on “The Voice” in 2023, has died at age 24.
WCDB News 2, a South Carolina NBC affiliate, confirmed Monday that Carter had been involved in a single-vehicle crash in Colleton County at around 11:22 p.m. on Saturday. Local law enforcement officials told People that Carter’s car had veered off the road and struck a utility pole before overturning, though the collision remains under investigation.
Carter was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, they said.
The Local Voice, a nonprofit group for women with cancer co-founded by Carter, honored his memory with a tribute on their Facebook page late Monday.
“Dylan was the heart of what we do. He believed every voice matters and lived that every day,” the group’s post read. “Through his music, his kindness, and his smile, he brought people together and made everyone feel seen.”
