Isabelle Tate, the “9-1-1: Nashville” actor who died at age 23 recently, succumbed to a neurological disorder called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, her agent said Thursday.
Kim McCray, founder of Tate’s The McCray Agency, told Entertainment Weekly that Tate had a rare form of the disease, which damages the nerves and weakens muscles. She was using a wheelchair, TMZ reported. Her character Julie in the TV series appeared in a wheelchair at a club, where she was insulted by another patron after saying her view was blocked. She was then approached by a male dancer stripped to the waist. “What are you doing?” she asked.
She “passed away peacefully” on Sunday, McCray noted in the email.
Tate played a character named Julie in ABC’s rescue drama, which premiered its pilot episode on Oct. 9.
The Nashville native, who graduated from Middle Tennessee State University, recently returned to acting, McCray said previously. Her first audition was for “9-1-1,” and she apparently nailed it, securing her first professional role.
