The 259th Jayanthi of Sri Sathguru Thyagaraja Swamigal was celebrated on April 24 at Thiruvaiyaru.

Special anointment and decoration of Sri Thyagaraja idol at the Athishtanam was held as part of the celebrations and the anointment and decorations were carried out by the Hereditary Sthaneegar, Thyagaraja Sharma.

Musicians offered tributes to the saint composer by singing the kritis composed by him. The celebration concluded with Sri Anjaneyar festival, according to sources.
