Shankara Jayanthi, the birth anniversary of Adi Shankaracharya, was observed at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam on Tuesday (April 21, 2026), which fell on Vaishakha Shuddha Panchami.
Special rituals and prayers were held at the Shankara Mandiram at Paladhara-Panchadhara in the Srisailam temple town. Temple priests and Vedic scholars first performed the Maha Ganapati puja, followed by special abhishekams for Lord Chandramouleeswara, Goddess Sri Sharada Devi and Adi Shankara, temple executive officer M. Srinivasa Rao said.
Special rituals were also performed for Rudramurthy at Rudravanam, in the north-eastern section of the temple premises. The Rudramurthy idol was consecrated earlier in the month of Vaisakha.
