Brunda M. Tapse, a student of St Mary’s High School in Chikkamagaluru, has emerged as the topper in the state in SSLC examinations by securing 625/625.

The result was not a surprise for her family. “I was expecting this result, as I had prepared meticulously and attended to all papers very well,” said Brunda, speaking to the media soon after the results were announced.

The student said she had support from her parents and teachers at school. “I studied for about six to seven hours a day, besides the school hours. I gave equal importance to all subjects and ensured that I followed strict discipline in covering the syllabus. Every day, I had set a goal in covering the chapters, and I followed it without fail,” said Brunda. She wishes to study science at PUC and pursue her higher studies in the engineering stream.
