The indefinite stir taken up by the employees of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) entered its second day on Thursday (April 23, 2026), disrupting the public transport services. Everyday, around 65 lakh people travel in the buses, with 45 lakh being women. The protest left people wondering when the services will resume, demands of the staffers’ and the State government’s response.

TGSRTC employees are on an indefinite stir — they will protest till their demands are met. Few of the services were operational, including Pushpak, electric buses, and buses plying on hire basis. Temporary recruitment of drivers and conductors was taken up in a few districts such as Khammam.
