The Federation of Anna Nagar Residents’ Associations (FOARA) on Sunday hosted online interaction with residents and some of the candidates contesting from the Villivakkam constituency. The candidates presented their five-year vision for the constituency.

Karthik Mohan of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) said that, if elected, he would focus on improving sports infrastructure for the youth. “I promise all parents and children that I will take a strong stance against drug abuse. There should be a diversion. So I will encourage them to participate in sports including our native games. Traffic congestion and healthcare will also be my priorities. We have already addressed many rain-related issues over the past five years,” he said, adding his plans for uninterrupted electricity.

Aadhav Arjuna of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) said that he would prioritise equality irrespective of religion, caste, or background. “My voice is with the people. We will rebuild the (government) housing units that are in poor condition in the constituency. There are no proper CCTV cameras there, and from our survey, there is an indication of high drug abuse. These issues will be addressed alongside safety and security, water and sewer management. Our office will always be accessible to all residents,” he promised.
