A man was killed after being hit by a car while standing on the cable bridge in Madhapur in the early hours of Sunday (April 19).
The deceased has been identified as Gosa Shyam Raj (32), a businessman residing at Aditya Nagar in New Hafeezpet and a native of Ghatkesar.
According to the police, the incident occurred at around 3.15 a.m. when a Mercedes-Benz car (WB 06 B 7003) travelling from Jubilee Hills towards IKEA struck him on the bridge, causing severe injuries. He was shifted to a private hospital for treatment but died at around 4 p.m. while undergoing treatment.
Police said the body was later shifted to Osmania General Hospital for post mortem examination.
The driver of the car fled the spot after the accident. The vehicle has been taken into police custody.
