DIY skill: Made their wedding rings and sourced vintage fabric for her dress
We carved our wedding rings from wax, measuring each other’s fingers as we went and melting down our old jewellery [a hodgepodge of gold chains and giant hoop earrings] to cast them. It was a really beautiful and bonding experience. We are both crafty and curious so it felt like the right thing to do. My husband’s [the painter John Kelleher] best man was the ring bearer.
