In a display of colour and coordination, the grounds of Andhra University turned into a living tableau on Friday (April 17, 2026) morning, as hundreds of students, faculty and staff assembled to form “AU@100”, marking the university’s centenary year.

Andhra University organised a large-scale human spell-out at the AU Golden Jubilee Grounds as part of its celebrations, drawing participation from students, faculty and non-teaching staff.

The coordinated formation, captured through aerial visuals, sought to commemorate a hundred years of the university’s history. Participants, grouped in colour-coded segments matching the hues of the Indian national flag, assembled in the morning and carried out synchronised movements as drones recorded the formation from above.

University faculty recruitment in A.P. to begin soon

Vice-Chancellor G.P. Raja Sekhar said the initiative reflected the spirit of togetherness within the university community. “Today, as part of Andhra University’s 100-year celebrations, we are here to create an AU@100 human chain of students, staff, and faculty members. It is a unique feat achieved with enthusiastic participation, and it will foster bonding and a shared spirit across the University,” he said.
