Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.P. Rajasekhar announced on Saturday (April 4, 2026) that a three-day ‘Mega Cultural Fest 2026’ will be held from April 6 to 8 as part of centenary celebrations.

Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan will attend the concluding day as the chief guest to witness the performances and present prizes to the winners, he added. The event, organised on a grand scale at the AU Engineering College Grounds, aims to showcase the diverse talents of students from the campus and its affiliated colleges, he said.

The festivities will commence on April 6 at 7 a.m. with a cycling event from the AU Convention Center to Rushikonda, followed by a plantation drive. The formal inauguration will take place in the evening with Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha attending as the chief guest. The opening day event will feature live bands, Thappeta Gullu, yoga demonstrations, and performances by the ‘AU United’ group and international students.

On the second day (April 7), Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat will attend the event as the chief guest. The day’s activities will focus on creative competitions such as Rangoli. In the evening, a musical concert featuring renowned singer Vagdevi will be held, along with cultural dances performed by foreign students.
