As part of a multi-pronged strategy to raise awareness on road safety, the Adilabad Police have installed a mangled car abutting the National Highway 44 at Gudihathnoor to deter motorists from rash and negligent driving on the busy highway.
The mass awareness initiative forms the crux of the ongoing “Arrive Alive” road safety awareness campaign highlighting the shared responsibility of preventing road accidents.
It is aimed at sensitising the motorists on safe and responsible driving to create safer roads for all. It intends to promote safe road behaviour for reducing road accident fatalities and injuries, police said.
The move is expected to act as a deterrent against overspeeding, drunk driving and other traffic violations.
Additional DGP Operations (Grey Hounds & OCTOPUS) Dr. Anil Kumar, Adilabad Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan and others participated in the road safety awareness programme at Gudihathnoor on Thursday.
