Around 600 bus and auto-rickshaw drivers took part in an ‘Arrive Alive’ road safety awareness programme organised by the Cyberabad Traffic police in Madhapur on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

The event was attended by Serilingampally MLA Arikepudi Gandhi as chief guest, along with senior police officials from the Cyberabad commissionerate. Addressing the gathering, speakers emphasised the need for strict adherence to traffic rules to prevent loss of life on the roads.

Officials highlighted the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts, and cautioned against over-speeding, reckless driving and use of mobile phones while driving. Drivers were also urged to exercise greater care while operating school buses and vehicles transporting children.

Police said the initiative forms part of a broader effort to promote behavioural change among motorists. Under the ‘Zero Enforcement Day – Counselling of Violators’ initiative, the focus remains on educating drivers and encouraging compliance through counselling rather than penalties.

Authorities expressed hope that such programmes would lead to safer driving practices and reduce accidents, urging motorists to act responsibly and prioritise road safety.
