The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Wednesday (April 15, 2026) alleged that its Media Wing General Secretary, Pudi Srihari, was detained by the police near the residence of former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at Tadepalli in Guntur district.

In a statement, the party said police officials took Srihari into custody without prior notice and seized his laptop and mobile phone. The party said authorities had not initially disclosed his whereabouts, raising questions over transparency and civil liberties.

Srihari had been handling media-related responsibilities for the YSRCP. The party alleged the detention was unwarranted and sought clarity on the grounds for the action.
