Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Nabin on Tuesday (April 14, 2026) paid tribute to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Addressing the party workers, Mr. Nabin said the thoughts and ideals of Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar continue to serve as a guiding light in the direction of nation building even today, and the Central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is working dedicatedly to translate them into reality.
He said “by giving shape and substance to the principles of social justice, women’s empowerment and Antyodaya, the government remains firmly committed to ensuring that the benefits of development schemes reach the last person in society.
“Our founding ideologue Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya had also envisioned the concept of Antyodaya for extending the benefits of development schemes to the last person in the line. The ideals and thoughts that shaped the lives of Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar and Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya are being fulfilled and honoured by the government today,” he said.
He said there was a time when no one beyond the Nehru-Gandhi family was accorded any recognition or honour, and even after 60 years of independence, Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar was not given the respect he rightfully deserved. “It was only when the BJP-supported United Front government was formed that Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar ji was conferred the Bharat Ratna for the very first time,” said Mr. Nabin.
